” I Love Cock Rock” and Findog and Skully too….

Yatzhee! You knew it was coming……You can only keep the Skulldog Show down for so long before we strike back with a vengeance. And strike we did last week going 12-4-1 ATS and redeeming ourselves once again as the most legit (and likable) handicappers in this  business. And that has a lot to do with the fact that we are not really in this business. We do this for fun and pass along the goods to you for free. All we ask is that you tell a friend!

Again, please don’t take our word for it you can go to pick monitor.com and check our results for yourself. And of course unlike all of the other “schisters” out there our picks are free!

It’s the matchup  you have been waiting for….Tune in this Thursday night at 8:30 to witness two NCAA powerhouses in Alabama and UCLA battle for hottie supremecy in this epic first round matchup.  A quick look ahead to this week’s matchup:

 UCLA

Los Angeles features some of the most beautiful women on earth, in small part thanks to UCLA women. Great cheerleaders and an area with tons of girls who want to end up in the entertainment industry equals a pretty high rating.

Alabama

Getting seriously into the stereotypical southern college girl when it comes to the University of Alabama, and that’s a good thing. These girls are nearly always in tip top shape and looking their best, leading to their high ranking. They wear dresses to football games, what more can you ask for?

Alright Bama and Bruin nation let’s hear from you as to why you are deserving of the win in this 1st round matchup. Plus as always we will also will cover the top 10 games of this coming weekend. That’s right hotties and winning picks – that’s what we do at the Skulldog Show!

We at the Skulldogshow, love Pac 12 football. As students, alums and fans we have always feasted on the conference when in Vegas due to our expertise in the west coast style of play. And this year is no different where we are off to a 4-2 start in the conference. What is different about this year is the depth of talent in the conference at the quarterback position. With unanimous Heisman leading candidate Andrew Luck at the top of the conference, you have talented signal callers behind him in Darron Thomas, Matt Barkley and Nick Foles.

Tonight we have an epic show down in the Old Pueblo of Tucson when the #6 Stanford Cardinal (2-0) rolls into town against the Arizona Wildcats (1-1). Without question the outcome of this one will depend on the consistency of the QB play between Luck and Foles.

This year Arizona’s senior quarterback has been sensational. He has completed 76.3 percent of his passes for 810 yards and six touchdowns with no interceptions and just two sacks. These numbers are impressive in spite of the beat down Foles and the Cats took in Stillwater against Oklahoma St. in a 37-14 loss last week.

This will be Foles’ second straight matchup with a topflight quarterback from a top-10 team. This time however the task does not get easier with Luck and the high flying Cardinal coming to town. The Cats have not been to establish any kind of running game this year and the prospects of doing so against a stout defense from Palo Alto seem unlikely. Plus to add additional salt to the wound it appears that Foles and his spread offense  will likely be without his top target and the conference’s leading receiver from  last year in Juron Criner who is  recovering from a an emergency appendectomy on Sept. 5th.

On the other side of the ball Stanford runs a pro-style offense, relying on formation changes, power runs and play-action passes. Luck, the consensus #1 draft pick in next year’s NFL draft, completed 37 of 54 passes for 461 yards in wins over San Jose State and Duke. Luck’s ability to operate in such a complicated system is why he’s such a strong commodity for the NFL,

Prediction

While both QB’s have established themselves as top QB’s in the country  with their consistent play these teams are not evenly balanced beyond that one position. The biggest mismatch in this contest is on the defensive side of the ball where you have an Arizona Defense who has been riddled with injuries and graduations from last year up against one of the conferences best led by All American candidates Chase Thomas and Shayne Skov. These two playmakers will stuff any attempt from Arizona to run the ball and force Foles to throw the balls 50-60 times in this game. With that much imbalance Foles will get forced into mistakes / turnovers that will take the crowd out of this one and put Luck in advantageous positions all night.

Skulldogshow sees Arizona hanging around in the first half and then seeing Luck and the Card pulling away big time in the 2nd half.

The Pick: Stanford -9.5
